Born 1972 in Grevenbroich / Germany, I am now living in Spenge (near Bielefeld).

After studying physics in the RWTH Aachen, I made my PhD in the area of magneto-optical investigations on exchange-bias systems. Afterwards, I worked in Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences on Intelligent Textiles, knitted fabrics etc. Besides, I am working with my colleague Tomasz Blachowicz on nano- and micro-magnetic systems, especially for magnetic storage media, resulting in a second PhD in the Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice / Poland) and habilitation ibidem. Since 2015, I am full professor in Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences.

My earlier scientific publications are published under my maiden name Andrea Tillmanns.
